For her next flick, The Punisher, Romijn returns to the world of Marvel Comics. "Marvel is a popular genre these days," she explains. "I did it because the part I play in the X-Men movies is the opposite of the part I play in The Punisher. Her name is Joan and she lives next door to the Punisher. She's sort of the love interest. She's the mousy recovering drug addict and kind of a loser. She's totally the opposite of Mystique, who is an evil badass."

Along with John Travolta and Thomas Jane, Romijn is bringing the pages of this dark comic book to the big screen - and it's a responsibility she takes seriously. "There are a lot of expectations," she notes. "People have been waiting for these characters to be brought to life. I portray Joan pretty differently than how she is in the comic book. You don't want to let anybody down, but at the same time you have to make it believable and sell it. It's fun to be part of something that people eagerly anticipating. It's probably not as much fun if you let them down, which I hope we won't."
