10-09-1999: MTV's regional model-search finals (Spring Hill) [Pictures]
The girls oohed and ahhhed, pointed and giggled and shyly approached a hero, supermodel Rebecca Romijn, as she appeared at an MTV House of Style regional model search Saturday (10-09-1999, RRF) at a Spring Hill plantation. Rebecca knows that feeling, but we'll get to that in a minute.

It wasn't her first trip to Middle Tennessee: The one-time Sports Illustrated cover girl and model/actress was here a couple of years ago for a fund-raiser at the Wildhorse Saloon. She recalls liking the Nashville area and her visit to Opryland theme park.

Told that Opryland would soon be a megamall, Rebecca wrinkles her nose.

"Do you really need another mall around here?" she asks.

The Tennessee attraction she most wants to see: Dollywood. Like Shania Twain, Rebecca is completely enamored with Dolly Parton. And like Shania, Rebecca has yet to meet her. "Ooooo," she coos, before squealing, "I just love her!"

At 8 p.m., in Times Square (Broadway, between 43rd a 44th Sts.) the city's Millennium Committee is staging a unique, open-air catwalk show featuring one-of-a-kind creations from the world's leading designers.

The fans were happy to see Rebecca Romijn, celebrity celebrity greeter, in a fringed leotard. One of the biggest perks of her job must be all the teenage boys lobbing
clever getting-to-know-you lines at her, like Rebecca, I want to shag you!" and "You forgot your pants!" That must be cool.

05-22-1999: 6th annual RACE to Erase MS (Las Vegas, NV) [Pictures]
Peter Morton's Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas will host the sixth annual RACE to Erase MS on May 21 & 22nd, a weekend of events created by Nancy Davis to raise monies for research dedicated to finding the cause and ultimate cure of the disease of multiple sclerosis.

Saturday morning (05-22-1999, RRF) begins with a 5K run/walk hosted by Tommy Hilfiger model and Sports Illustrated' covergirl Rebecca Romijn and rap superstar LL Cool J. The weekend finale that evening includes a live concert featuring prominent bands at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino's famous venue 'The Joint' as well as a performance by actor/comedian David Spade and a special tribute to Phil Hartman presented by Jon Lovitz.

While Costner amused himself with a blond babe, Snipes and Harrelson admired the bathing beauties and blackjack tables at the bash for the new Hard Rock Hotel. That's also where Tommy Hilfiger put on a fashion show, benefiting the annual Race to Erase MS, with entertainment by the Goo Goo Dolls. Elsewhere in the casino, magician David Blaine must have cast a spell on the blackjack table, where the card sharp won $25,000. Lounging by the pool were Dennis Rodman, LL Cool J, Rebecca Romijn and Jenny McCarthy, who gambled while floating in the swimming pool.

02-09-1999: Presentation of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition (Supper Club, NYC) [Pictures]
THE 15 models who were on hand for the launch of this year's (1999, RRF) Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue at the Supper Club know what it's like to be in the middle of a feeding frenzy. The poor girls, including luminous Brit newcomer Michelle Behennah, pictured above, Chandra North, Heidi Klum, Sarah O'Hare, Veronica Varekova and others were subjected to immersion in a room full of testosterone-charged employees of the Seagram's company, which sponsored the issue, there to be groped, drooled on and generally manhandled. At one point, covergirl Rebecca Romijn came storming out of the room having had her fill, declaring "There's too much booze in there!"
