Lights! Camera! Action! as Hollywood comes to the suburbs. Avanti has donated services and facility to the cast and crew of "Grownups" the movie, an independent film staring John Stamos. It was a pleasure accommodating Rebecca Romijn, who came to Avanti on August 4, 2000. She indulged in a Swedish massage performed by our therapist, Maryanne, and a manicure and pedicure by Luda Conti. Mr. Stamos and Mrs. Romijn plan to come in later this month to experience other signature spa treatments, including the "Razul".

03-09-2000: 20th Century Fox luncheon
The Me, Myself and Irene crew wasn't the only collection of mutants on hand at Thursday's (03-09-2000, RRF) Fox luncheon. A slew of X-Men also materialized to wow exhibitors. Director Bryan Singer and cast members as Patrick Stewart, Famke Janssen and Rebecca Romijn (noticeably MIA: Storm portrayer Halle Berry, who was apparently too busy dealing with her legal woes in L.A. to make the trip to Vegas) took the dais to much applause. They introduced a new, longer trailer for the comic-book adaptation that shows off each hero and his/her power.

The flick promises to be one of summer's biggest blockbusters--if Singer can finish it. "Of the 350
special-effect shots, only eight are done," he confesses.

Nonetheless, Fox has big plans for the X-Men. "We expect to spawn a franchise," says Fox studio boss Bill Mechanic. In fact, Janssen tells E! Online that she's already signed up to reprise her role as the telepathic Jean Gray in a sequel.

02-10-2000: Fall 2000 Fashion Week (NYC)

02-07-2000: 4th Cosmo's Fun Fearless Female Awards luncheon (Plaza Hotel, NY) [Pictures]
Wholesome "Party of Five" and "Time of Your Life" star Jennifer Love Hewitt has been named Fun, Fearless Female of the Year by Cosmopolitan magazine. She celebrated at New York's Plaza Hotel on Sunday (02-06-2000, RRF) with a party along with 11 other honorees, including soul diva Mary J. Blige, model Elizabeth Hurley, The View star Lisa Ling and actresses Heather Donahue, Rebecca Romijn and Hayley Mills.

Rebecca's Award Speech:
Every time I move my pants on snap. I don't know why I just told you that. I don't know. It is really an honor to be included in this great group of women and just to show everybody how fun and fearless we are, we all decided, we're gonna streak on Fifth Avenue after this show. You wanna get your cameras ready for that. This is really cool, I'm going go home and add this to all my other awards. The last thing I won was the Sixth Grade spelling bee, so thank you.

Rebecca Interview:
My husband and I live for fun. We were in Vegas this weekend and that was pretty fun. I won the jackpot on quarters. 2700 dollars. And we love amusement parks, we love Disney World and we're just kinda..., we're just like goofy kids, we laugh and we cavort and we, you know. We play. When I was auditioning for MTV, I didn't feel like the audition went very well and the next day I called the producer of the show from an airport and I said, listen I don't think my audition went very well yesterday, but I think you should hire me anyway, cause I think I could be very good at this and she hired me, and I, I was, like in retrospect, I look at that and thought, that was pretty damn crazy that I do that and I didn't put much thought in it before I did it because I knew I back out if I..., you know, thought about it. You know, don't take yourself too seriously, don't be afraid to laugh at yourself and look like a goof. Embrace your goofyness within.

02-06-2000: Victor Alfaro show (New York Fashion Weeks, NYC)

02-05-2000: Grand opening Saturday night of Warner Brothers Stage 16 [Pictures]
The ultra chic nightclub at WB Stage 16, a theme spot patterned after Warner Brothers' most famous soundstage, was celebrating its grand opening Saturday night. (02-05-2000, RRF) The new club at The Venetian has the look and feel -- and a stunning open-air Strip view -- to compete for the hip crowd that shows up at Baby's at The Hard Rock Hotel, C2K at The Venetian and Ra at the Luxor. For the Arquettes, the champagne Saturday night wasn't for just another wrapped film. They met on the set of "Scream" and got married during the break between "Scream 2" and "Scream 3." (Jenny, RRF) McCarthy, almost unrecognizable in her new look (short, black curly hair), was there with her new husband, John Asher, a Hollywood director and actor. Model Rebecca Romijn, eye-catching in a fashionable pinkish top with the words: "Red kitten," hung out with hubby John Stamos and other pals.

01-10-2000: Party for the Issue of Movieline
Rebecca Romijn won't stand for anyone dissing her man. The supermodel/actress agreed to take part in a cover story for Movieline's new "Sex" issue. But she's refusing play hostess at a party for the issue tomorrow night in L.A. because writer Stephen Rebello took a swipe at her hubby, John Stamos.

Rebello's story gushes over Romijn, due to break out in the movie "X-Men." But he asks how she ended up marrying Stamos, "who's been flying relatively low on fame's radar screen."

"How did this superdish, who could easily marry her way into useful, powerful echelons of Hollywood," end up marrying the guy who played Blackie Parrish on "General Hospital" for two years and Uncle Jesse on the now-defunct TV sitcom "Full House"? Rebello asks.

Even though invites listing Romijn as the host were sent out weeks ago, her reps told the magazine on Wednesday not to expect her.

"There's really nothing bad in the piece," magazine president-CEO John Evans told us. "We're sorry she feels this way." Romijn's rep insists she's not going to the party because of a scheduling conflict. Stars still expected at the bash at Cyrano's include James Woods, Roseanne Barr, Jacqueline Bisset, Lauren Holly, Sela Ward, Gary Oldman, Michael Bay, Scott Caan, Gary Oldman and upcoming Movieline covergirl Leelee Sobieski.
